Today through Sunday I will be attending classes to become a certified USA Track & Field coach. While I never ran track, I did run cross country when I was in middle school, and was the manager for the high school cross country team (the reason I didn’t keep running, is due to me sucking at it. I later found out was due to an irregular heart beat that was intensified during stressful situations).
With running being one of my passions now (along with swimming, biking, and fitness), I would love the opportunity to be able to help with junior aspiring athletes in Cross Country or Track & Field. With the growing obesity rate among children, I want to try and be a motivator and role model in fitness. I want to be a part of the solution by getting kids and young adults active instead of sitting at home eating Doritos and playing video games.
This certification, I hope will also help myself with better knowledge of the sport and the benefits that it can help anyone wanting to get into or keep their fitness.
