Music Monday: Another Yoga Playlist

Not me!

First, I know it’s Tuesday.  I was just too tired to post this yesterday.  Last week at Yoga for Athletes (at VO2 Multisport), Sarah said that I was going to make a new playlist so that the other could be retired.  So I labored over what to put in it for the whole week.  I ended up with a playlist that had 47 songs in it.  Now, how do I narrow down, and in what order do I sort them?

So, I did finalize the music, then listened to the playlist a couple of the days to make sure they “worked”.  I wasn’t convinced, but I was running out of time, so decided to go with it.  Well, after class last night, I decided it didn’t work.  Some of the songs were too dark (“You Don’t Love Me”, “Bitter”, “Change of Heart”, “More Than Sorry”) or funny (“Angels” – I started laughing when this came on).  Some songs worked though, and I decided to recreate based on the ones that did and eliminate the ones that didn’t for next week’s class.  So here’s the list in case you want to get an idea of how it went down!

  1. You Don’t Love Me – Matthew Sweet
  2. Anthems For A Seventeen-Year-Old Girl – Broken Social Scene
  3. Change of Heart – El Perro del Mar (love this song, btw)
  4. I Still Care For You – Ray LaMontagne
  5. Bitter – Me’Shell Ndegeocello
  6. Looks Just Like The Sun – Broken Social Scene
  7. Voce Pra Mim (Remix) – Fernanda Abrea
  8. Ten Thousand Words – The Avett Brothers
  9. Fade Into You – Mazzy Star
  10. Witness – Sarah McLachlan
  11. Angels – Flight of the Conchords
  12. Adrift – Jack Johnson
  13. Nightvision – Daft Punk
  14. The Wind – Amos Lee
  15. More Than Sorry – Ben Harper
  16. Hey Ya! – Matt Weddle
